Paradise Press & Gay Authors Workshop
Issue 5: Autumn 2026

Editorial
Since the last issue, we've launched the Flash Fiction anthology Hot Flashes in great style at The Rising pub in Elephant and Castle. We're receiving good feedback and we're inordinately proud of it. 44 authors from all over the world (India, South Korea, Nigeria …) have given their talents to it in over 180 stories.
You can buy a copy here, only £12 + postage.
Pre-launch we paid tribute with flowers and candles to the men who had been hanged for sodomy in the 19th century at Horsemonger Lane Gaol, 200 yards from the pub in what is now Newington Gardens. The event was recorded and posted on YouTube, where you can learn of the full barbarity of the British penal system against our predecessors.
We think it's important to remember our history and our martyrs, and also as writers to be part of the wider political community.
The writers' workshops at the Kings Arms in Poland Street continue in four-week blocks. We are not advertising them any more on Eventbrite or OutSavvy, but we welcome new people by invitation, and if you would like to take part please Contact Us.
We are planning a third anthology to complete a flash fiction trilogy, so if you want to submit work, either for that or for this newsletter, please do so through the submission form below. We hope you enjoy this edition of Flash PPink.
